Casemiro did what Ronaldo failed to
After defeating Newcastle United 2-0 this Sunday, the Red Devils marked their victory by winning the Carabao Cup at Wembley Stadium.
The Brazilian star, Casemiro, diverted a goal from Luke Shaw towards home, scoring a goal for the team at around 33 minutes. After a struggle of a few minutes, despite the efforts of the German goalkeeper, unfortunately, it was ruled out that Sven Botman scored an own goal.
This is the first trophy since 2017 that was won by Manchester United under the management of Erik ten Hag. The Dutch coach has transformed the team from underachievers to champions.
Former player and current pundit Garth Crooks claims to believe that the 31-year-old star, Casemiro, has achieved something that Ronaldo failed to achieve during his second restraint, that is, uniting the dressing room. Crooks also believes that Casemiro is gaining popularity among the fans.
Last summer raised many eyebrows when Casemiro signed the contract, which was worth £70 million. Crook is correct, however, because Casemiro has won the hearts of millions of fans by establishing himself in the team.
